Default Leaving Layeredtech.

Due to the recent price increases for customers of layeredtech, I've decided to drop my custom with layeredtech. I only recently ordered a new server which was at a managable cost to myself, now these prices increases will be rolled out in July I can no longer sustain my custom with layeredtech.

I understand layeredtech has to grow, but I brought this server in the good mind there would not be a hefty price increases. Even loyal customers feel the full brunt of this. I've been a loyal customer for nearly 3 years, last time the price increase was $8, and now its $28 least for me, it may not seem much but in the long run I cant manage it.

Its pointless me ordering a new server either as I know at some point the price will only increase.

So in short my custom shall be dropped from layeredtech before the price increases, 1st July.

I'm weighing my options as well. A 10% increase followed by a 32% increase...

LT Putting us in an embarrassing position with our customers again

we can not tell our customers to give us more fees because we respect our customer and our agreement with them

we have pay the extra fees from our pockets

How can we trust LT , may be they will increase it in the future again and again

Totally agreed,

I expressed my thoughts here,
http://layer0.layeredtech.com/showthread.php?t=10271

The result is I'll be closing my custom with layeredtech.

I doubt I'll be bringing any further business to LT, and if IP address weren't static to a datacenter, I'd be gone...

I'm also considering moving. It hasn't been exactly easy at $139 per month and now I'm jumping up to $167. That's just too much of a jump with income going down. I've been really happy with layeredtech.... until now. I was looking at less expensive servers here, but how much of a jump in price will there be with those and how long until there's another jump?

$88 to $116 for an Athlon 64 3000+!?!?

Even if I pay more, I can get a better value somewhere else.. this is quite absurd.

Downtime after downtime because of network problems at Savvis (see ltatus.com for May) and now a price increase of 36% at one of my servers I purchased a few days ago?

36%?!?!?!?!? Does LT know at what margins a server reseller operates? I'm sure I have pretty good margins compaired to most resellers but a 36% price increase is just mad. I would have accepted a low increase like the last one (not long ago!) but that.... I'm speechless.

I totally agree. a $28/month increase with absolutely no added benefit is absolutely ridiculous. especially considering I have had the exact same hardware for about 2 years now as my server ages and is more and more out of date, my cost is increasing?? $124/month for a sempron 3000??? Pretty crazy that when I got this it was an average speed system and it was $88, now that its an outdated system you want me to pay $124?
